Spielberg report not true - Marshall confirms
Posted by Jack DLM - Friday 10 May 2013 at 05:32PM - 12 Comments

Frank Marshall has replied to me on Twitter to inform that the quote about Steven Spielberg stopping production on Jurassic Park 4 because the script was "crap", is not true.

It's good to know that Spielberg doesn't that think that about the script - and perhaps it means they're not starting from scratch with a new re-write. Perhaps the script that Colin Trevorrow turned in a few days ago is just more epic than they were expecting, and they thought they needed more time to make it happen without rushing it.

UPDATE
Colin Trevorrow has again taken to Twitter to attempt to settle some worries about the current status of the film.

Maybe we will see Jurassic Park 4 in 2014? What are your thoughts?

Spielberg Calls JP4 Script Crap - Demands Re-Writes
Posted by Jack DLM - Friday 10 May 2013 at 01:28PM - 3 Comments

Image Hollyscoop is reporting that one of their sources close to the production of Jurassic Park 4 has told them that Executive Producer Steven Spielberg called the current script "crap" last week and said that if they wanted him to be involved with the film, then it must be re-written. That was the point that production was halted in Hawaii, and presumably this led to Universal Pictures announcement and Colin Trevorrow's recent tweet.

You can watch Hollyscoop's report here.

This is quite contradictory to what we've been hearing, but our own trusted sources have confirmed to us that this information is correct and this was the reason people have been let go from the production.

At this point, who knows what's going on? The director has said that there's no friction and confirmed the film is still happening, but there have been many reports that contradict Universal's press release. It doesn't look like we'll be seeing Jurassic Park 4 in 2014.

Trevorrow Speaks on the Delay
Posted by Sandy - Thursday 09 May 2013 at 05:06PM - 1 Comments

Colin Trevorrow has taken to Twitter to let the fans know what's going on. Luckily all is well between the filmmakers and Universal. The reason for the delay is to allow more time to make "the movie you deserve". The tweet can be seen below.

I think its clear that we have a director that cares about what the fans need and what the franchise derserves.

JP4 Updates Before the Delay
Posted by Sandy - Wednesday 08 May 2013 at 07:50PM - 10 Comments

According to Borys Kit, a writer for Hollywood Reporter, the script turned in two days ago was more epic and ambitious than expected and that the filmmakers are happy about the delay.

Some new info is being learned thanks to Variety.

Derrick Connolly and director Colin Trevorrow are re-working the script, which was apart of the deal with Universal when he was first brought on board the project. These two worked together on 2012 indie hit, Safety Not Guaranteed directed by Trevorrow.

Also, actress Bryce Dallas Howard and actor David Oyelowo were Universal's front-runners to lead JP4.

News from The Hollywood Reporter

The movie was to begin production June 24.

Trevorrow has been living in Hawaii for a a while and the latest draft of the script was given to Universal two days ago.

JP4 was then delayed to give more time to the filmmakers. No new release date has been given yet.
