Jurassic Park 4 News! NO DINOSAURS WITH GUNS

But we already knew that... still, Joe Johnston confirmed to Drew McWeeny at HitFix that the "new idea" for JP4 is NOT the 'dinosaurs with guns'/'homocraptors' plot that was written by William Monahan/John Sayles. YAY! All the people saying it was that can... be silenced?
Anyway, Drew (who is the man who reviewed that script back in 2004) asked Joe about the state of JP4:
There is an idea now for number four that is different from the first three, and that is more or less the beginning of a new trilogy, in that it sends the whole franchise off in a new direction. It's not about the dinosaur park anymore. It's about all-new characters. So Steven's busy right now with the stuff he's doing and I've got to do "Captain America," but hopefully afterwards, we'll find time to develop it. And really... it's something different that we haven't seen before in the "Jurassic Park" world.
Sounds exciting! However, Joe did [joke] that the Monahan/Sayles script may be used after JP4 - but personally I don't think it will, I think Joe was just saying it's possible - after all, it's Hollywood.
Well, you know, Universal and Steven will want to keep making these movies as long as they're successful, and who knows? We may see the Monahan/Sayles version come back.
I am very pleased to know Spielberg IS on with the new idea, he's just busy with other projects right now. I'm thinking after Captain America we may get some real development. We can only hope, and that's what we're good at.
Also, if you read the below post, I totally predicted we'd get some news. You all owe me a cookie.

Quite a few websites have had interviews with Joe Johnston regarding The Wolfman and have asked him about Captain America. Well, no reason why they wouldn't have asked about JP4 right? Maybe even just a little question. I'm thinking ShockTillYouDrop did (and they're posting their full interview in due time). When the official press conference for The Wolfman happens I'm thinking at least someone will ask. I can feel us getting some sort of news, so let's hope!
Also, frequent visitor Isla-Nublar-Crew heard Jurassic Park 4 mentioned on a Czech television documentary. They were saying that a new dinosaur species was discovered and that "Hollywood is really interested in it, and there is a possibility, that next Jurassic Park movies will be full of feathered dinosaurs". This is very interesting and I'm eager to hear more news on it.
Captain America filming in the UK!

So Joe Johnston's upcoming Captain America is filming in the UK this year which means I'm going to be trying to fly up to wherever they are filming and try my best at speaking to some of the crew, both for my own personal reasons and to try to dig up some JP4 news.
If you live in the UK, I'd recommend doing the same if you live in the area. I may not be able to so it may be up to you guys to find some information from Joe himself. I'm hoping he brings JP4 up in interviews in the coming months.

Tuesday, February 9th - get yourselves to The Wolfman premiere.
Where: ArcLight Hollywood, 6360 W. Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA
5:30pm is the press call time, 6:30 is when the celebrities arrive. Yes, Joe Johnston will be there, so if you live in this general area head down there, take a video camera and ask the man himself about JP4!

Ok so I've just seen the nicest thing ever - a 5 year old sent in his WE WANT IV video, wearing a Jurassic Park hat! Cheers buddy!
